Louise Nicholson Carter, AAHID, IIDA
For the past 30 years, Louise Nicholson Carter has drawn upon her lifelong interest and experience in art and design to create outstanding art programs which integrate with architecture. An honors graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Ms. Carter is a notable expert in the healthcare art and design arenas.
Her background with healthcare interior design provides over 2 decades of experience, complemented by her active participation in several key professional groups. Ms. Carter recently completed her second term as president of the Texas Association for Interior Design and is a founding member of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers where she also serves as the Director of Communications. She is a sought-after speaker on the subject of integrating art and interior design into healthcare facilities.
Ms. Carter is actively involved in many community organizations. She has chaired numerous committees, served on local boards and organized fund raisers. Philanthropic organizations she has been involved with include the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, DePelchin Children’s Center and the Richmond State School. In 2004, Ms. Carter was honored to be selected as one of eight finalists for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Greater Houston Chapter’s prestigious Women Business Owner of the Year Award. She’s also an enthusiastic participant in the Texas Triumph Register, an organization for Triumph automobile owners, where she has served as president of the group and participates in competitions and road rallies.
